Who We Are
Maccabi Nigeria Union is the national Jewish sports organization dedicated to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and Jewish unity through organized sports across Nigeria.
Our Mission
To develop Jewish youth and athletes through sport, discipline, and shared Jewish values while representing Nigeria in regional and international Maccabi competitions.

The Maccabi Pan-African Tournament (MPAT) is a continental Jewish sports event bringing together teams from across Africa to compete, connect, and strengthen African Jewish unity through sport.
MPAT serves as a platform for youth development, cultural exchange, and Jewish pride through athletic excellence.
MPAT will be hosted in Akwa Ibom State, a growing center for Jewish community life and sports development in West Africa.

Those assisting the activity are IPJD โ the Initiative for the Development of Progressive Judaism, and the Abraham Ben-Avraham Foundation (which works, among other things, to promote soccer among Nigerian Jews), two non-profit organizations established in the local Jewish community and that donate money to the club. Outside Nigeria, the club receives support from “Kulanu”, a non-profit that helps remote Jewish communities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and hopes to receive a boost from other organizations operating in the US and the UK. The players will need this support โ traveling to Maccabiah is an expensive affair, thousands of dollars per player, a sum not within the reach of members of the community.
