Host City: Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

MPAT will be hosted in Akwa Ibom State, a growing center for Jewish community life and sports development in West Africa.

Countdown to Tournament

Those assisting the activity are IPJD โ€“ the Initiative for the Development of Progressive Judaism, and the Abraham Ben-Avraham Foundation (which works, among other things, to promote soccer among Nigerian Jews), two non-profit organizations established in the local Jewish community and that donate money to the club. Outside Nigeria, the club receives support from “Kulanu”, a non-profit that helps remote Jewish communities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and hopes to receive a boost from other organizations operating in the US and the UK. The players will need this support โ€“ traveling to Maccabiah is an expensive affair, thousands of dollars per player, a sum not within the reach of members of the community.
